"Cheri Honkala is National Coordinator for the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign, one of the country’s largest multi-racial, inter-generational movements led by the poor and homeless. Compelled by her own experience as a homeless, single mom, Honkala has spent nearly three decades working directly alongside the poor to build the movement to end poverty, and has organized tens of thousands of people to take action via marches, demonstrations and tent cities."
"Karen Morian was born in Tallahassee and grew up in New Smyrna Beach. She is the proud product of Volusia County public schools and knows from personal experience the possibility for public schools to expose students to the diversity of our society, to afford them opportunities to grow in new ways, and to create cohesion in a community. During her childhood, she saw the damage to individuals and to society of inequality, and she became a lifelong advocate for those who have been denied, denigrated, or excluded. Her father was an electrician, and her mother was a teacher; both were union members and were able to provide quality insurance coverage, something she believes all families deserve. She worked her way through college and graduate school as a work-study student, as a teaching assistant, and at part-time jobs, receiving degrees from Stetson University (BA) and Florida State University (MA, PhD). She then began teaching and working with community organizations."
"A Write-In Vote for Henry Lawrence is a Vote for preserving and protecting our natural resources and jobs. We are a community of workers, students and families that deserve only the best Bay County has to offer. That is why we all live here in our little corner of paradise.
Being Green means looking out for all the citizens of Bay County and doing my best by listening and responding to the wisdom that surrounds me.
We can do this together and only together."
“My main mission if elected is to protect the health and safety of the citizens, visitors and tourists in Monroe County. I also want to ensure that the hard earned taxes we pay for Mosquito Control are spent in the most cost effective manner”
